Students

The ACoP 2009 Student Organizing Committee is Kyle Baron, Yuyan Jin, Pavan Kumar Vaddady, Vijay Ivaturi, Ben Wu

There are over 60 students and post-docs attending the meeting this year from the US and around the world. This is a large and diverse group of students, so we are looking forward to some great opportunities for us all to learn, network, and socialize at the meeting this fall. Please check out the information below and on the attached flyer. We are looking forward to meeting you all at ACoP 2009 in October!

ACoP 2009 Student Session

Date: Tuesday, October 6th

Time: 12:30 - 2:00 (this is during the first 1.5 hours of the Tuesday-afternoon free time)

About: The student session will be an "office-hours" problem solving time when students can ask questions and discuss project-specific problems with modeling and simulation experts in small groups. Bring relevant project-specific background materials (NONMEM control streams, results files, exploratory or diagnostic plots, etc..) to discuss and get help with your modeling questions. Please see the attached flyer for more details.

Who is going to be there? Our All-Star team of experts include: Leonid Gibiansky, Luann Phillips, David D'Argenio, William Gillespie, and Diane Mould. We hope you are there too.

Is lunch provided? This is programming for students... of course we will provide you with a box lunch to eat while you discuss. A HUGE "thank you" to ANOIXIS Corporation for sponsoring student programming at ACoP 2009.

Student Social / Networking Time

Stay tuned for more details: We are in the process of planning an informal event for students to socialize and network. There are 7 bars / clubs at the Foxwoods Resort and a ton of meeting places. The event will most likely take place after normal ACoP business hours at one of these locations. THIS WILL BE AN INFORMAL, UNOFFICIAL, NON-SPONSORED GATHERING: you will not find this event on the official ACoP program. We just thought it would be cool to have an opportunity to get together and hang out with other students. Please stay tuned to email or on the ACoP 2009 Students Facebook page (see below) as we work out the details.

NMstudents Email List

About: Did you ever have a question about NONMEM, modeling, pharmacometrics, or how to make it out of your grad program before you turn 40, but didn't have the guts to actually post it on NMusers? We created an NMusers-like email list for students and post-docs only to help with your questions. The list is called NMstudents and we invite you to join the discussion with other student pharmacometricians. We want this list to be a relaxed place where students can get help with their modeling projects / problems / questions from other students without the pressure of posting on NMusers. Questions at all skill levels are welcomed and we ask that all participants be respectful of other participants' questions.

Who: This email list is only for graduate students or post-doctoral fellows who are interested in pharmacometrics.

Join: To join the listserv, send email to: [email protected]. In the body of the email, write "subscribe nmstudents Your Name". Your subscription to the list will be approved by a list administrator as soon as possible. Please contact Kyle Baron ([email protected]) if you are having trouble subscribing.

Discuss: Once you have subscribed to the listserv, you can post questions or comments by sending email to: [email protected].
